Virtual community of practice for language teachers

ReaLiTea stands for Research Literacy of Teachers.

It seeks to enhance the research and teaching skills of pre-service and in-service foreign and second language educators. Our focus is to bridge the gaps between theories and practices, meet the needs of marginalized learners, and improve critical literacies in teacher education and in foreign and second language teaching and learning.

01
Creating learning opportunities
Blended and self-access modules that support teachers in developing research literacy – for both ‘consuming’ and ‘producing’ research.
02
Tracking personal development
Frameworks and benchmarks that help teachers reflect on and structure their professional growth in research literacy.
03
Making research accessible
Plain-language summaries and digests of language education research so that classroom teachers can access high-impact findings.
04
Curating models & building communities
A corpus of research outputs and an online hub where teachers, students, and researchers share examples, collaborate, and co-construct knowledge.

ReaLiTea is an Erasmus+ project bringing together partners across Europe to support language teachers’ research literacy and professional development.
